Rail passengers in Wandsworth are benefiting from significant investment in local stations, with major improvements progressing at Wandsworth Town and a new entrance now open at Queenstown Road station in Battersea.

At Wandsworth Town Station, work is on schedule to deliver a fully step-free station by summer 2027. This includes new lifts for all four platforms and a new second entrance with a modern ticket hall at Odyssey Way. Piling works for the new lifts are nearing completion, allowing for the installation of lift shafts. The station remains open throughout the construction period.
These improvements aim to make journeys easier for people with reduced mobility, parents with pushchairs, and passengers travelling with luggage. The new Odyssey Way entrance will also enhance access from the north and introduce new ticket barriers.
Meanwhile, passengers in Battersea have gained improved access to Queenstown Road Station with the opening of a long-awaited second entrance on Patcham Terrace. This new entrance offers quicker access for residents of Nine Elms and Battersea, facilitates quicker changes between Battersea Park station, and helps passengers avoid busier roads.
The Queenstown Road entrance was secured through a planning agreement with local developers approximately a decade ago.
