The Sutton Business Awards have returned, receiving an impressive 550 nominations from businesses across the Sutton borough. The event, scheduled for Thursday, 12 November 2026, aims to celebrate the diverse range of local enterprises, from independent high street shops to larger companies contributing to the borough's prosperity.
Organised by Sutton Council and its partners, including the Sutton and Kimpton Industrial Park Business Improvement Districts (BIDs), the awards highlight sustained business success and support the council's economic growth strategy. This strategy focuses on attracting new investment, fostering business expansion, and creating employment opportunities within the borough.
Councillor Jake Short, Chair of Sutton’s Housing, Economy & Business Committee, expressed enthusiasm for the awards' return. "We are so excited to bring these awards back to Sutton and showcase the incredible, diverse organisations that make our borough a dynamic hub for growth, following a fantastic response of 550 nominations," he stated. "From our busy construction firms to residents' favourite restaurants and cafes, celebrating these achievements directly supports our new Economic Growth Plan and Inward Investment strategy. It proves to the wider region that Sutton is open for business, innovation, and long-term investment."
Patricia Park, Chief Executive of Sutton BID, commented on the awards' positive impact on the high street, particularly for the retail, leisure, and hospitality sectors, noting they are a "fantastic way to build closer links with residents."
Colin Newton, Chair of the Kimpton Industrial Park Proprietors Association (KIPPA), highlighted the significance for industrial sectors.
