Newham Council is providing emergency accommodation and support for the affected residents. The council was informed of the urgent structural problems in the buildings early this morning by the London Fire Brigade (LFB), based on reports from the property management company.
Residents were requested to evacuate in the early hours of the morning. The Council immediately established a rest centre and offered emergency accommodation and support to those who did not have alternative arrangements for the night.
“"We encourage affected residents to make contact with the property management company for additional support especially in relation to alternative accommodation measures, they can be contacted at royalgateway@primepm.co.uk."
Deputy Mayor Cllr John Gray, Cabinet Member for Housing, stated, "We are here for residents if they need assistance while this issue is resolved and will support and are working with the property management company to achieve the best solutions for our people. I am here on site with Newham officers and will continue to support residents."
The council is collaborating with the property management company and emergency services to minimise risks to the public while the situation is addressed.
