This week, Morley College is participating in T Levels Week with a campaign to promote its T Level courses for 16 to 18-year-olds. T Levels are nationally recognised qualifications designed with employer standards to support entry into skilled technical roles. Equivalent to three A Levels in UCAS points, they include mandatory industry placements, offering students a blend of classroom study and practical work experience. In England, T Levels achieved an overall pass rate of 92.6% in 2026, with 71% of learners agreeing their course prepared them for the workplace.
Morley offers T Levels at its campuses in North Kensington and Chelsea. The college provides excellent work placements and experience days for T Level students. Jewellery T Level students recently visited the Goldsmiths’ Fair at Goldsmiths’ Hall in central London, an event showcasing 138 of the UK’s best contemporary jewellers and silversmiths. This provided students with insights into high-end jewellery trends, opportunities to speak with artists, and to network for work placement opportunities. Jenny Macdonald, Senior Tutor in Jewellery, noted the importance of the show for inspiration and for making industry contacts for student work experience.
Earlier this year, students also travelled overseas on Turing Scheme work and educational placements to European cities. Students from Morley North Kensington College studying T Levels visited Valencia for work placements, gaining valuable experience abroad. A new film highlights their stories.
For prospective students interested in craft, Morley has launched its 2027/28 course programme, including new T Levels in Furniture Making and Upholstery. A free five-day traineeship in partnership with Make Good Academy will run from 26 to 30 October at Morley Chelsea College for those interested in making, design, or furniture.
Ream El-Ashmawy, Senior Tutor on the Education and Early Years T Level course, explained the programme's potential, enabling students to pursue careers as early years teachers, primary school teachers, or in fields like speech and language therapy or child psychology. The two-year course covers essential topics such as safeguarding, health and safety, child development, and learning theories. Graduates can progress directly into employment, further training, or university studies.
Morley College encourages prospective students to explore its 2027/28 prospectus and visit upcoming open days to meet T Level tutors and discover potential career paths.
