Rowan Court, a development of 46 council homes in Seven Sisters, has won the prestigious RIBA Neave Brown Award 2026 for the best new affordable housing scheme in the UK.

Designed by Satish Jassal Architects, the project transformed a challenging and underused site into much-needed high-quality council housing for local families. The development provides 46 genuinely affordable homes for social rent and has created a thriving community space.
Cllr Jo Kuper, Cabinet Member for Resident Services and Tackling Inequality, who accepted the award with architect Satish Jassal, stated: "This award is a fantastic achievement and national recognition of our commitment to delivering high-quality council homes for local people. Rowan Court shows that council housing can be architecturally ambitious, environmentally sustainable and designed around the needs of residents."
The Neave Brown Award celebrates projects that combine architectural excellence with outstanding places to live, named after the pioneering social housing architect.
This national honour follows a series of previous accolades for Rowan Court, including a RIBA London Award 2026, a Housing Design Award 2025, and a Civic Trust Award 2026.
