Tyler, a learner author at London South East Colleges, has successfully expanded his creative endeavours beyond writing, producing his debut short film after a year of dedicated development.

Following the success of his debut novel, John's Wacky Wayland, Tyler has been actively developing new projects, including sequels and original novels. His creative journey has now extended into filmmaking with the completion of his first short film, a personal milestone he describes as one of his proudest achievements.
Inspired by a passion for cinema, Tyler spent a year crafting the screenplay for his short film. The movie centres on a woman living alone whose life takes an unsettling turn after receiving a mysterious gift basket containing golden eggs. The film, which blends humour with unease and features an open ending, aims to provoke discussion among viewers.
The film's success has already garnered attention, with selections for two film festivals and an Audience Choice Award, a significant accomplishment for a first-time filmmaker. Tyler noted the distinct challenges of filmmaking compared to writing: "With books, I can explain exactly what characters are thinking and feeling. With film, you have to rely on visuals, performances, music and sound to tell the story."
His studies at London South East Colleges have been instrumental in his artistic development. Through his Art and English courses, Tyler has deepened his understanding of storytelling, creativity, and visual communication. He credits former English teacher Munuse for nurturing his creative writing and current Art teacher Jon for encouraging him to think more expansively.
Looking ahead, Tyler's creative momentum continues with more books in development and a new film project, tentatively titled PROJECT R, a found-footage production. He offers advice to aspiring creatives: "If you have an idea, plan everything and keep going, even if you think it won't work. Even if you don't like the result, at least you can say you did it. There will be people who are proud of you for trying."
