Students from Morley College London have had their glass art exhibited at the Cabinet of Curiosities exhibition, a national showcase presented by the Contemporary Glass Society as part of the International Festival of Glass in St Helens.
Selected through an open call, the students exhibited alongside established and emerging glass artists from across the UK. The exhibition invited artists to explore themes of discovery, storytelling, experimentation, and wonder, drawing inspiration from historic "cabinets of curiosities".
The Morley students presented a diverse range of interpretations, demonstrating the creative and technical skills honed through the College’s glass programme. Their varied work highlighted the breadth of glassmaking techniques taught at Morley and the extensive creative potential of the medium.
Works by Adam Dix, Beverley Gee, Chris Murray Hayden, Jagoda Kamov, Bex Williams, Jenny Dune, and Annie Wasdell were featured.

"Having Level 2 students selected for a nationally curated exhibition is a remarkable achievement. Their work was shown alongside artists from across the UK, giving beginner glassmakers the opportunity to exhibit and sell their work at one of the country’s most respected glass events."
“
"What I’m very proud of is that everyone who decided to apply was selected. They took the opportunity, put themselves forward and achieved something really special."
“
"It’s fascinating to see how each artist interpreted the theme. Some works are beautifully refined, others make you stop and ask questions, but all of them show a contemporary approach to what can be achieved in glass."
The exhibition, which concludes this week, marks a successful showcase of contemporary glassmaking and a significant milestone for Morley’s emerging artists. Many participating students have since advanced to further study, building on the skills and confidence gained from exhibiting nationally.
